Specs mean crap - they can only give you not-even-half the picture........ LISTEN TO IT - TRY IT OUT - USE YOUR EARS - then decide if you like it or not.....

Makes definite sense ! I mean lets say that one condenser mic costs 300 bucks and another 99 bucks and logic dictates that the 300 doll one is better BUT upon hearing them both, i find that they're about similar and so I go for the 99 one. Ok ok it's not a very good example but I get the point ... "USE YOUR EARS" :)

The one (important) caveat to that is that you also have to know what you're listening for! That is, you do need to have a bit of aural experience to draw on - a novice may have real difficulty (however hard to imagine!) hearing a difference between a $150 Marsall and a Neumann!

But in general, if it sounds good, it IS good and brand-name, price, etc, shouldn't enter into as much as some people think. A good example is the RNC - easily competes with $2000 compressors, yet costs 5 times less. To be fair, there isn't a lot of equipment out there (mics, especially) that give you that much bang for your buck!

Sorry, cjacek, I was being facetious...when I read "Durable,
Scratch Resistant Anodized Finish", I immediately thought of radioshack's advertising department...gibs:D
