Ah, the Yorkshire Dales! Land of Doctor James Herriot, Tristan, et al. Used to have the Who Live At Leeds LP. Love to see your part of the country some day.
 
Yorkshire's a very mixed region. Towrds the centre and in places like Leeds itself it's become quite built up.

In places a bit off from Leeds, where I live (they're still classed as Leeds, though) it's a mixture of rural and urban.

And then a bit further off from that not much has changed really. Still rural. It's nice coming back from a holiday driving over the dales on the way home, though there wasn't much there last time - everywhere was flooded:eek:

In fact, lot's of places were flooded:eek:

But my house is at the top over a street. And the street is at a slope so I survived:)
 
I have a sailboat that was built in Devon. A Drascombe Lugger. Love to sail that rocky coast in my little lugger!
