I think the vocals were excellent. The Piano you should give back and never borrow again. To be honest the music was so harsh that it spoilt it. It wasn't out of tune or anything but just a very harsh sound.

Sorry Crows. I can't play a note so should never judge, but I did think the vocals were great. (y)

Thanks Orson! Yeah, it is a little harsh, isn’t it? I wish I could play piano a little better....and drums. Lol

I liked it. Excellent job imo.
Thanks for listening! Glad you liked it!

Surely you could soften the harshness of the instruments with eq and then it would be premium.

I’ll see what I can do! I imagine the EQ will be more broad than surgical. This will give me a chance to test out my Pultec clone!

Good Cover - there are some glitches - vocals un-match etc...drums are non extent - and the piano...want to send me the tracks?

Thanks! Unfortunately the things your mentioned aside from the vocals are all on one track. Not much to be done there except some EQ.

I quite liked your version. I agree that it sounds harsh, especially the 3rd verse. I'll just chalk it up to some analog "lo fi" warmth. ?

The organ seems a bit too strong to me, relative to the vocals and other instruments.

Thanks Talisman! I’ll see what I can do about the organ and piano.

Crows your vocals were excellent. How about trying something less complicated musically from the Beatles. Less instruments. They have lots of tracks to pick from. McCartney was good at this especially at the stage of the Beatles to Wings when he was on his own in Scotland. An example there is 'My Love'. Another later in a Wings rest period was 'Waterfalls'. Very simple.

It’s just hard to pick because im a baritone and Paul is a tenor, and John is pretty close to one, too.

I EQd and compressed the piano / organ track and I think it sounds better!

I had to smile! I remember the original well, and the famous Abbey Rd Mrs Mills Piano - which Spitfire have now sampled and I thought about buying.

So I thought the piano was right for the song to be honest - but I've heard it on so many recordings you kind of understand the upright, jangly, slightly out of tune sound. It's very obvious on so many Beatles songs.

For me the track is just too busy - no breathing space, but I liked it.

Thanks, Rob! I do think it’s particularly busy at the very end, but it somewhat works in a way.
