I had a Fostex 80 and a matching Fostex 8-track board ) I forgot the model number) . Yamaha SPX90. Korg DW8000 and a Roland S10.
AKG EB353 and a Beyerdynamic mic, I forget the model.

I was 25 at the time (old, I know).

I still have the DW8000, AKG, and the Model 80 :)

My first setup was 2 Technics cassette decks and a Radio Shack mixer, along with some cheapie high-impedance Audio-Technica mics - age 17 - around '82/83........

First recorded my band using my mp3 player's voice record function.. Sounds terrible. Next used a radio shack omni with Dad's JVC cassette deck. Bought my TASCAM 414mk2 4 track not long after. Was 16.

At 17 (1977) - some funny little box, size of a cigar box, called itself a mixer, 4 inputs, 4 volume knobs and one output which went to a casette recorder, or plugged into a home stereo for "rehearsing". Also a little mic that came with my Dad's hi-fi set.

Tascam Portastudio and a couple Shure PE15 dynamics.

Circa 1983-84.

Traded the Tascam for a Roland SDE-1000 when they came out a couple years later. Still have the Roland. ;)

I did a few "recordings" on walkmen and windows sound recorder, but I guess my first "setup" was a 4 track tascam portastudio. It was my friends, but in my possession for well over a year. I was around 15. After my buddy took the portastudio away (bastard) I got a Yamaha MD4 minidisc 4-track, which I used up to about age 21.
