What's the absolute best, most gorgeous sounding song you've ever heard play through your speaker system, (either self mixed or store bought?)

Everyone seems to have a favorite song that they are just completely in love with because it sounds so sweet on any system. You know the one. If someone would walk into your home studio for the first time and you really wanted to impress them with awesome sound quality right from the start, which song would you play for them?

Who cares about lyric content or theme! If I know all you sound engineer types, it would probably be a song that sounds crystal clear and makes your studio monitors sound their best. It would be the one that is the most perfectly mixed, the most perfectly EQ'd, has the greatest stereo separation and imaging, has the best dynamics, has the most energy, and just plain makes people sit up and pay attention.

No matter what genre of music you enjoy, there must be a masterpiece within all of them.

Why not turn us on to it. If you can, make a short excerpt or snippet of the song in mp3 and let us have a little listen. (Hell, who knows! You might even find one here that is better than your "Old Faithful".)

I realize the mp3 format won't do it justice but hey, at least we get to hear a little bit of it.

I'll start off with my favorite. It is a store bought CD by a band called Dry Cell. The song is called "Last Time (Reprise)". Here is a little sample of it.

Okay, it's your turn. Give it your best shot. I know some of you guys can do better. ;)

Bring it on.

Thanks man,

That's a tall order????

Just to throw it out. For the time Van Halen, mean street is amazing.
Hard to believe it works;) Hard panning, Killer drums, poppin bass. How did they do it    The guitar can put you in pain at high volumes, but thats good......right? Ohhh here's the best part. There is still dynamics!!!!
Should have stopped right there.

The Simpsons sing the Blues! I aint a-kidding, there was a song on there that sounded amazing, I think it was "God Bless the Child".

This is always a fun thread topic.

Short clip with 3 sections:

The bass is so well articulated, I just can't match it.

Fo live stuff, I always check with this:

- but it's not because it's the best sounding mix in the world, it's just that it sounds about right in MONO, which is how I set up a PA. :D

Pretty much anything recorded by Allison Krauss's producer. You hear people talking about creating "space" in a mix, but I rarely hear it done well. Here's where it was done well:

Fun thread.

'Adagio For Strings' by Samuel Barber. Actually either the string version or choir version does it for me. And it doesn't matter if the recording is great or not. The music is just so d*** beautiful.
