I have finally finished my room (with the exception of a roof leak - why does it only start leaking when the drywall is finished and painted?) and have moved all my stuff in. I have been playing various CDs though the monitors to get a reference to the way the room sounds. In the monitoring position (me as a point on a equidistant triangle), the bass response is very subdued, almost flat. But when I roll back into one of the corners, it definitely picks up and gets a little muddy. Definitely a change, but not too drastic.
I went around the room the other night standing in the corners (I have 6 - it is a T shaped room), trying to figure out how things were sounding, and even climbed on a ladder to assess the ceiling corners. Again, there is definitely an increase in the bass response, but nothing too drastic. But I got my first lot of 2" 703, so I am ready to attack the corners.
Speaking of corners, I have a question about the corners and the monitors - how close is too close? I am probabaly 18 inches out.
Also, thanks for all the help and advice I got from everyone here. This place is a goldmine, and the people here are very generous with their wealth of knowlegde.
