This is my "BAND" Wet Skidmark. It is an Evil Death Metal song. So vile, it can kill. Listen, if you dare. We did this hoping to get a gig with Black Prophecy 666.
Pure Evil.....
It features Gorty on lead guitar...and Snake on...what else??? Weed Whacker....
Please use caution.....it is EVIL......

It is just supposed to be about an Evil Weed Whacker, making my shins hurt. Don't Weed Whack in shorts..... :p

Dear Wet Skidmark,
There is a yellowwatermark of authenticity about this track. Some sense that the Reg Grundies really are, as you say, marked by the devil. A palpable sense that the olifactory organs may well detect the pungent essence of fetid strain, of a penny spent but no successful transaction having taken place at the time of exchange.
You should sell this song with an infomercial...
It shreds, it dices, it blends, it mixes AND it whack weeds.
But wait. There's more!
It provides cautionary tales about the use of devices ( oh, yeah & it slices).

"One question, was it this obsession, to destroy all the people
on your list" the Aunty Jack Show
Well done & cheers for the t(h)umour

Wow! When you play it backwards you can clearly hear the hidden message about kittens, puppies, and fluffy little bunny rabbits. :D

Ray, Ocnor, glad you both survived. We didn't want any more senseless deaths attributed to this kind of music. It costs too much. :D

:D

cool song! the only thing I 'm not crazy about is the pitch shifted vocals.. it seems harder to take it serious.. maybe it was done as a joke.. if not, I would do the death vocals for real if I were you..

Thanks dude...yeah, more of a joke, just to play fast. The vocals were screamed into an MXL V93, really close, then phased with some plugin that said Black Metal vocals. I might try and capture a better vocal fro the next one, as it's quite fun to play this stuff.

Any ideas on a more serious vocal take for something like this? I have a few good condensors to choose from, and an SM58. I don't know if it's just a different technique, or different equipement, or a combination. I had more of a Six Feet Under idea. Any ideas would be appreciated.
And thanks for the listen man.
Ed

DUDE!!! That is the sweetest sounding weed whacker I have ever heard. Is it in standard tuning? Mine sounds nothing like that and I have recently considered haveing it set up by a pro. That tone...man...its just awesome.....I usually record my weed whacker with an sm57...but I see you said you had a 58, so maybe I need to get one of those....I wonder how it would sound blended with something like an AT3035 or a SP B1?

In the jungle
the evil jungle
the whacker weeds
tonight.......
In the jungle
the scary jungle
the weed whacked out
your lights....
a weeder whack
a weeder whack
a weeder whack !!!!! :D

Dude, that is so evil I'm afraid to go in my garage with my weed whacker!

Perhaps you could get Lord Vargath from Black Prophecy to do some guest vocals. He is one evil sumbitch! :D

Thanks for the weedwack, I mean feedback. It's taken me a lot of wacking experience to get such a sound and build such wacking chops. The weedwacker was in drop D tuning and recorded with a hanging SP B1 on fire about 5 inches away. Actually here's a pic from the recording setup in THE CAVE OF EVIL AND DESTRUCTION, taken by Satan..

(by the way Dogman/Gorty, I have no headphones now so I can't hear the new version till tonight)

Hello...this is David's wife. What the hell did you guys do to my husband??? He was sitting at the computer with his headphones on. The next thing I know, he burst into flames! Shame on you!!!

I just changed my weedwacker's cutting line to a heavier gauge for a richer tone. It just takes a little more effort in the technique. What gauge do you use. The tone's good.

I noticed though that your weedwacker is only performing the 16th notes at around 240 beats per minute. Just a suggestion, but with consistent metronome practice you should be able to increase that to a greater tempo.

Tim

Whew...the wife thru a blanket over me and put the flames out. I should be ok.

Dogman, that intro riff was awesome! Sounds like you had fun making this tune. Guitars sound pretty good too. Reminds me of a Metallica tune, just cant remember what it is...or maybe it was off of garage days.

The weed wacker outro is a nice touch...did you record that?
