I am trying to dump tracks from my VSR-880 into either Cool Edit or Logic RPC. All tracks have come in with clicks & pops. I have spent all day researching the click & pop issue on this bb. Still have not found a solution. Here's the deal:

Hardware(all brand new):
Epox 8kha+ mobo -VIA 233 chipset
Athlon 1700
512 DDR ram
Roland (MAudio) RPC-1 card
Seagate 7200rpm 80g hd
Roland VSR-880 8 track recorder

Settings:
virtual memory: min=512, max=512
write behind caching disabled
[vcache]: min=16384, max=16384
read ahead optimization off
DMA checked for hd
RPC-1: master clock internal, 44.1 sample rate, latency=20ms
newest RPC-1 driver installed

I do have more than one device with the same IRQ setting, but all say 'no conflicts'. Could this be the problem? If so, how do I change IRQ settings? I have read of problems w/ via chipset, but I thought that was all solved with the 233. Any ideas?

I'm not familiar with your card, but are you transferring tracks via digital or analog inputs?

If you have a 3Com Etherlink network card try disabling it, I was plauged with pops/clicks under WinXp until I did this, now no artifacts whatsoever. Actually I just created a separate hardware profile where the net card & any other h/w devices not essential to recording were disabled (USB, COM & Parallel ports, etc), and use this when I record.

the rpc-1 is an 8in 8out card that hooks up to Roland equipment via a 'rbus' cable. I am sending 8 digital tracks from the vsr-880 to the computer. I have no network card installed.

also-I reinstalled the rpc-1 in another slot to solve the IRQ problem. This didn't fix the problem.
