I just finished putting together a 10 song CD of my music, so I'm a little dry in the writing department and just wanted to let loose and play without thinking. So I recorded a version of "No More Mr. Nice Guy" yesterday. Alice Cooper is the first rock band I ever really got into back in the day, so it was cool to do this. Let me know if anything sticks out as not being right. I might have overdone it with the distortion on the intro riff. Thanx and enjoy...I hope.

No More Mr. Nice Guy

Man, that is just too damn cool! ;)
I dig that song, and you did a great job with it.
Everything sounds great too, good job on the vocals.
I don't think the intro distortion is overdone at all, is there supposed to be a change during the intro riff or am I thinking of the Megadeth version?? Oh well it doesn't matter, sounds good!

yeah, I'm a total dumbass :o ....I know I'm thinking of the Megadeth version......
Right on RAMI!!

Hey thanx man...I didn't know anyone else did this tune. I got to check out Megadeth's version. Might give me some ideas.

Well I don't know the original but your ver sound good to me

Thanx dude...Well, if you listen to the original, mine might sound so good after all...lol.

I didn't know Weird Al liked Alice Cooper

Lol, Sorry to keep bringing that up :p

Great job. How long did it take you? You seem to have a new tune everytime i'm here!

Sweet recording job man! You definitely got that 70s sound down. Yeah this very true to the original, you sound very close to Mr. Cooper, nice job. Haha, you could have dogman do his hardcore stuff on the little "oh"s and "ahs" in the second verse in the original. jk, but that'd sound pretty funny.

Yeah I just played yours back to back with the original... your quality actually sounds better IMO. ;)

Yeah isn't it great just doing covers? I've working on all these instrumentals forever so the covers are good fun, a good getaway.

Hehe...Yeah, I need a life. It took me about a total of 5 hours, I guess.

Damn, I should have changed the lyrics, did a praody, then it would have been me doing Weird AL doing Alice. :)

Oops..I was answering Prestomation as you posted Snake. Thanx. I have to say that, even though it was 1974, the production on the original is way better to my ears. Besides the fact that there are alot more tracks (guitars and vocals), the spread and quality is really sweet.
2 things I got out of doing this. I totally appreciate Bob Ezrin as a producer now. I always have, but really listening I noticed he made a good song a great song.
The other thing is that I now have a much greater appreciation of Alice as a vocalist. This is not an easy song to sing and I've been playing in cover bands for 100 years.

You're right, when I listen closer the production on his is actually excellent, yours sounded great though coming on much louder. A lot of the production on those 70s bands amazes me considering what they were using. I think one of the guys I have the most respect for is Tom Scholz from Boston. Just love what he did with the guitar & engineering side.

Yeah I was thinking when I first heard you singing, "man, that sounds like a hard song to sing!!"

Man I just got back from watching some sports, and saw this post, and I had to check it out.

Rami I dont know what else to say then Exelent work.
This song really fits your voice perfectly, This is defenitly on off my Alice Cooper faves.

Its my opinion that this was his most rocking era, and you truly prove that with your song.

a bit to drunk to go into any sound issues, but at this moment I couldent hear anything wrong.
¨
Just pure and exelent 70`s rock.

once again you get the thumbs up.

Of course you like it, you're drunk!!! Wait for me, I'll be there in about an hour (drunk that is).

Thanx brother.

second listen, and it still sounds good.
You tha man Rami...
It`s nice to have an other 70`s freak over here.

Cheers to you...
Mr.nice guy :D

I seem to remeber in your 70`s song you opened with the lines HELLO HURRAH... Wich is another astounding track.
My fave from that album is I love the dead.

next to your version of No more MR.nice guy offcourse :)

but hounestly after sobering up for a....well ......ah forget it.

IT sounds aswome.
This one is on my frequent playlist...

:D

Smoken, dude. This is damn cool. True to Alice, but different. Man, can't say much, other than I really like it. Sweet tune.

How do you get the vocals to sit so far back in the mix. Usually, I get alot of presence from my setup, but alot of recordings I hear have the vocals sounding distant and compressed. Is that the case here?

Rick, I'm not sure what you mean. Do you mean they are not loud enough? Or athat they're there but not sticking out too much. I hope you get back and let me know what you mean, because I'll gladly give you the details of every step of my vocal recording process.
