Well....again the dreaded thread gets bumped,,,but,,,to address this wingnut AndyHix,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,, (<-- many commas) I dont think anyone said he didnt know "anything", the point was, that he comes across like he is gods gift to the studio/music industry with his attitudes and comments.
We are just commenting on the fact that I am sure at age 19, he still has alot to learn. As you do obviously as well since you cant seem to comprehend things you read.

Second, no one including myself was making fun or light of his health problems. The comments were initially because of him saying about his beliefs (or non beliefs), and I believe your faith and beliefs comes into play in every aspect of your life. Thats my opinion, which I am certainly entitled to. Also how he thinks he is "all that" and "all knowing" for his age, then wonders why he has
(palpitations, in and out of hospital because of it, leading to panic attacks and anxiety
. Wake up dude, this guy seems to be a stressed out, uptight walking time bomb! You both need to relax!!

Finally, you might like to point out grammar mistakes by others, but before you do, you need to obviously learn how to read,,,,,,,,,,,(<-- more commas) and comprehend posts,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,, (<-- many more commas) and pull the stick out of your ass while doing so!! People with have rectal cranial inversion syndrome "really irk me"

Peace ,,,,,,,,,,, (<-- closing with many commas) ;)

...neener neener neener....

Hey..we gotta keep it interesting. LOL :D Ricks probably watching as a spectator thinking.."ok guys, get back on my being the subject at hand" :D

And Pandamonk,,,,that last post from me was not additional "bash" towards you, it was addressing Andyhix response. So we dont need to rehash what you know and dont know. I am sure your well ed-u-ma-cated in the music world,,,,but we ALL still have lots that can be learnT. :D :D ;)

Signed, Comma-Man!

I know I have a lot to learn, and try not to come off like i think i'm god of the music biz, or whatever. Of course I'm not. I'm a nobody just now. I'm just starting a small business for myself, so I'd never think that. I'm also not at all well educated in music tech. I've got an HND(High national diploma), that's it.

I don't claim to be omnipotent, but i do know certain things, and God's nonexistence is one thing i know. I don't need all-knowledge to know that, no matter what some theists may have you believe.

ANyway, I've had enough of this. Badmouth me all you want...

Pandamonk...I wont bad mouth you....but please do me one favor, then we can quit beatin a dead horse.

(not music related, and maybe we should start a new thread elsewhere on this) but

PLEASE......tell me how you know with 110% true and certain accuracy that this comment you made is true??
Pandamonk States:
but i do know certain things, and God's nonexistence is one thing i know. I don't need all-knowledge to know that,

IF you can do this, and it proves to be absolutely correct, then I will personally finance your new business for you!! ;)

Explain this comment, backed up with absolute proof, because maybe I am the dumb one here>?>?

If you can prove this....you are way more intelligent then many scientists, and others who have studied this topic for thousands of years. Then you might just be one of the smartest guy's in the world after all?>?>? LOL

My-man,,I think all you have is an "opinion" (a simple close minded one at that) on this topic, and not a "for certainty" like you think!! Maybe thats why they are called "beliefs" ;)

Peace ;)

No, let's keep this thread (sort of) on topic instead.

Start that one up in another thread !

I'd love to by a fly on the wall of a "There is no God" thread.

I listen to Bob Duco (sp?) on Detroit Radio, and he's got an ongoing monetary challenge on that debate.

Might be interesting to hear what pandamonk has to say, and maybe he could give the Bob Duco show a run for it's money.

If Dragon starts charging 10 cents per comma, you guys are going to be screwed.

(Get em' while their still free! ,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,)

LMAO !! ,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,, :D:D

Pada..what do ya say? Lets start another thread>?>? :p

Wake up dude, this guy seems to be a stressed out, uptight walking time bomb! You both need to relax!!

I don't know what you meant by this, but heart palpitations is a disorder and leads to panic attacks and anxiety. I had a similar problem for awhile (doctors thought it was an arrhythmia) but for some unknown reason it pretty much went away.

Having a heart condition doesn't mean you're stressed out, uptight, or a walking time bomb.

Having a heart condition doesn't mean you're stressed out, uptight, or a walking time bomb.

That can be a correct statement,,,,,,but,,,,, (gotta add the commas) ;)

Those factors I listed absolutely DO come into play with most any cardiac issues!!! These issues, the same as smoking, high blood pressure, heredity, defects from birth, cocaine use :D etc, and the list goes on and on, all can and usually do contribute.

I know, I have had all of them as well, PLUS I had a heart attack 5 years ago, and was hospitalized for several days. Still going to a cardiologist for the follow ups.

I too used to be uptight, stressed out, and I even smoked among other things the young age of 19 and 21. Was part of growing up I guess.

Anyway, if your being told these factors dont play a part at all, Or without a doubt, arent possible contributing factors, maybe you need to change Doctors>?

Now, I have to agree with the Creep. Lets either start a new post elsewhere, or, put this one to bed. It has gotten way off the original topic. and is now getting rather boring. But I DO want to still hear the answer from Panda proving there is no God. ;) ;)

Peace

PS -
but heart palpitations is a disorder and leads to panic attacks and anxiety
You got that backwards my man,,,its usually "medically" the other way around!!

...because he didn't read any of my many messages mentioning that I get over 1,000 pieces of spam email a day, so it's quite likely that things he wrote me (if he ever did) got lost in the shuffle. He posted things here? I might just have missed them.

If you're getting 1000 pieces of spam a day that's your problem not Ricks, and to suggest that his patience (spanning several years I might add) in asking you for stickies (or the ability to mark things as a sticky himself) is unreasonable.

While you were away, many of us who have been here a long while (end of 2000 myself) spent an awful lot of time helping others, encouraging excellent technical discussions, and when we asked for a little help from you as the host/sysop/system owner/guy in charge, we got nothing. The reasons why simply do not matter, as they are whatever they are and cannot be changed at this point in time.

Like Rick, I PM'd you several times asking for stickies. My last PM towards the middle of 2006 offered my services as a moderator, which would alleviate you from having to deal with this stuff and that too did not receive a reply. I certainly didn't assuming anything negative about you as a person but even if you weren't interested a simple acknowledgement might have been nice considering for 5-6 years straight I, just like Rick, was putting 4-8 hours a week into this system which benefits you as well as the membership.

At the end of 2006 I my "personal time" became severely limited, and I had to choose between several systems to participate in. Because at the time there was a fair amount of flaming, personal attacks, hostility, and "expurts" making the most assonine claims and steering many new/niave/good people into making potentially ignorant decisions, I chose to not be here, at least in an active state anyway.

Back to Rick leaving and your comment regarding this...

Before you pass judgement on the man I would advise you to use your search feature and actually read his posts of the past SEVEN years - all THREE THOUSAND of them.

I will not argue that he can and has flown off the handle on numerous occasions and I will not defend that behavior - but out of those 3000+ posts, you'll find that 95% of them really were incredible contributions that I and many others feel made your system as awesome as it was at the time.

Everything he said, he backed up with CAD diagrams, mathematics and science. Rarely did he answer glibly and he went out of his way to make his point(s) as clear and concisely as he could. Sometimes that didn't work out the way he had hoped but the man's human for Christ's sake.

Do note that Rick was not the only knowledgeable, incredibly helpful member during that span who has left. I could name ten if I wanted to. They of course will and have been replaced by knowledgeable newer members and that's fantastic.

Anyway, if you want to publically announce "Rick's a jerk in the end", all I'm going to say is I believe you are being unkind, ungracious, and rude at best.

Best of luck to you all.

Frederic.

Frederic, I agree with all you say except the last bit above.

Did you read what Rick wrote about Dave here, in an open forum?

Did you?

If you did, then you are just stirring up shit, and I don't give a shit what your opinion is.

If you didn't, then please rest assured that in response to a completely unhinged post, full of vile and unprintable suggestions, Dave did not reply in kind.

One does not go about getting favors done by insults and tantrums. Dave did the only thing Dave can do to remedy the situation.

Let's put it another way.

Ricks great store of knowledge and willingness to help people with acoustics issues does not overcome his inability to keep a civil tounge in his head. Had this gone over in private, Rick would be here today. I don't buy the line that Dave wasn't responding to Rick's PMs, because it directly contradicts my experience with Dave. Is it possible that you don't have all the facts?

I'd have banned him too, and I like the guy.

Did you read what Rick wrote about Dave here, in an open forum?
Did you?

When I searched for Rick's posts I discovered he had over 3000 of them. I did not find the post in question, so I simply assumed Rick had another one of his "episodes" which you may recall I said I would not agree with that method nor would I defend on Rick's behalf. Because I've known Rick for 7 years... he does fly off the handle on occasion and sometimes those "flyoffs" are beyond measurable.

While I did not appreciate your "I don't give a shit about your opinion" comment do know it's not my intention to "stir shit". I am merely expressing my disappointment in two things, which I thought I stated clearly and without emotion. I have not asked for your agreement and at the end of the day we can disagree, agree, or not care one way or another. It's all good.

And this is not a "fuck you" to Dragon. I am merely explaining how I feel and why. Anytime something negative happens regardless of method and reason, I believe there is an opportunity to learn from it. For Dragon, for me, for you, for Rick, for all of us. That's all my post is about, and why I approached it calmly and logically. Please don't read words or meaning that is not there. I'm entitled to disagree with Dragon's response and at the same time I haven't read Rick's post. I'm sure Dragon may believe he is in the right, and whether you or I agree is immaterial. It's his system and he pays for it, so ultimately whatever he feels is best is entirely his perogative.

That doesn't mean I can disagree with it, and say so. He'll discuss or not, he'll listen or not, nothing may happen at all. Again, that's his perogative and it simply is what it is.

But to your point, with my absense for the past year it's highly likely that I don't have all the facts, but if we're mature adults, instead of adding to the nonesense by saying "I don't give a shit" maybe offer Rick's post as a response with a comment of "Maybe this makes more sense now?" might have been more useful.

Regarding your belief that Dragon did not ignore Rick's PM's, well, as I said above he ignored mine for years so I cannot draw the same conclusion as you have. If he responded to yours, that's fantastic and I can understand why you have the opinion that you do. All I'd say to that was is our experiences were different, hence the different statements.

That in and of itself is not unreasonable. It's forming a conclusion based on our own individual experiences.

But you know what, lets just drop this. Enough damage to HRBBS has occured for a variety of reasons, it's probably better to let it go and all of us to just move on and back to discussing what we're here for.

My apologies for the interruption.

Sorry, man. I shouldn't have said that I don't give a shit about your opinion. That was uncalled for. Rick is certainly one of the most knowledgeable folks here, and I don't need to add to the negativity.
