Is there an alternative way to dump to a computer without having to go through the "line in" or "mic"-?

If the only signal outputs it has are audio outs (RCA jacks?), then get an audio interface. The line-in jacks on your computer are connected to the crappy OEM soundcard in it. Even if you have a decent built-in soundcard (a "Media" tower, for example), an AI will give you better analog-to-digital conversion and a better sound on your converted files.
