Well I've got one. I'm very happy with it. It's very solid, unfussy, well built and completely destroys Behringer in the VFM stakes. The Central London shop I bought mine from can't get enough of them. However it's arguably more of a live stage mixer than a recording mixer; in as much as it doesn't have direct outs for multi channel recording. You can use the Group bus out with two channels panned hard L and R, and also the Aux sends for two more channels, and I guess you could also only send two channels to the main stereo mix, which would give you six autonomous outputs for recording. I'd need to put a damp towel round my head to work out how to get a workable monitoring mix out of that lot, however.
Your synths won't need to use the preamps - they produce a line level signal which would go into the stereo line inputs.
