I know nothing about keyboards. I have a dx7 that was given to me. The sounds it has Already built in to it suck in my oppinion.
Is there a way to load better piano and organ sound into it?
Is it worth messing with?

You can always use it as a MIDI controller and drive a fancy VSTi hosted in your DAW. EZKeys has been looking pretty attractive to me, given that I can't play the piano to save my life.

Funny that you say that because 25 years ago a DX7 was the cat's pajamas. I always thought they were cool when I saw them on stage.

Hi Jimistone.
It is impossible to get a good acoustic piano from a DX7. OK-ish sounding organs are possible, but they will usually sound thin and a bit noisy in my opinion.

I have been programming my DX7 and then TX802 since 1983, and it is one of my favorite synths. However, these days I only layer it with other synths. Unless you want a synth for adding subtle colours to other instruments, I suggest you get rid of it because there are dozens of better synths if piano and organ are your main requirement.
