Yo CROW:

Just do the "search" and look around the site; there are mucho words about the 16 by Yamahahaha.

Then, check out Dinsdale's site for the same subject matter.

Then do comparative analyses and let all the information lixiviate for you and make a decision.

Mucho apologies

I just entered the classic newbie faux pas - posting without thoroughly searching the site. I apologize for my error, and have gleaned some excellent information about the 16g.

Thanks for the info...

Yo Crow:

Hang tough!

I use the Yam 2816 which is very similar to the AW16; there are differences but the end product is still filled with good Yamaha sound. And, burning the CDR or CDRW is built in -- I've done some nice remastering of tapes I did on an 8 track Tascam multitracker -- 16 bit stuff is nice stuff.

And, with my 2816, not sure on the AW16, I can record in 24 bit sound and run that out the back of the unit into tape or DAT.

A neat box. If you can afford a few extra bucks, I'd suggest the 2816 or the 4416 which has 16 individual faders.

Depends on your needs at this time.

Happy Spring
