Hi all!
New here, this is my first post!
I just recently bought a Yamaha AW16G and I am new to home recording. I compared a lot of recorders and this one struck me as the best DEAL+REPUTATION. Yamaha makes very nice equipment.
Anyway, there are several reasons I needed this recorder:
1. To record TRIGGER SAMPLES to play during live shows to intro songs.
2. To play to a CLICK track during live shows.
3. To record live shows (Hence the 8 track simultanious recording)
4. To do home studio recording.
The first major obstacle I am having with the machine is RECORDING FROM CDs! I have all my samples on a CD and I just want to import them to the sample pads. However, every time I try and import anything from CD, I constantly get a "MEMORY FULL" error even though I formatted the hard drive! (I wanted it CLEAN to start with).
Does anyone have any idea why this is? I set the pads to have a max of 180 secs per trigger and the longest sample I have is a MONO 58 seconds. This should be plenty. I have 19.998 gigs of space left on the hard drive (guess based on current song space).
Does anyone know what the problem could be?
PS: At $999, I think I got a great deal.
