Yamaha 01V or Behringer DDX3216?

Sooo folks...

which desk would you prefer to buy if you want to run under Sonar via ADAT?

Why one over the other?

Is the Yamaha really worth the extra $$?

Any input appreciated!

Y'know, for almost twice the price I just can't see how the Yamaha is almost twice the mixer...

Behringer gear gets a bad rap around here but I've used a 3216 recently and was impressed with the lack of learning curve and good sound. You're never going to have a studio that sounds like it costs a million dollars unless you have a million dollars to spend on it, so you might as well get what you can afford.

IMHO.

I have carted my berry ddx around for 2 years now mainly for live gigs and I have fouind it to be very reliable and durable (but it sure is heavy).

It does not give esoteric performance but as a good reliable workhorse I think its fine.

Nothing comes close at this price!!!

Thanks for the points of view. They are helpful and make sense.

The features on the 3216 are pretty impressive to say the least. I'm now more than happy with my humble VM200 but could easily justify the leap up to a 3216 I think... the finish of the Yamaha desks too always looks a bit honky to my eyes.

I'm a Mackie style fan but... hey, you gotta eat too.
