I already mentioned two in my earlier post, Ian Finkel and Bob Becker.

If you look up vibraphone on wikipedia, they have a list of players, but I don't think they have the same thing for xylophone. Gee I wonder why....

Ian Finkel is generally considered the greatest living xylophone virtuoso today (and his website will tell you that too).

I saw him perform with Johnny H. & the Prisoners of Swing (John Haas, timpanist). Very cool.

Bob Becker is best known as a member of the percussion group Nexus. Also one of the greatest xylo (and percussion in general) players around.

Seen them a couple times. They have a great album, Ragtime, recorded in the 70s Direct to Disc. You can guess what type of instruments it features.

These guys are generally more known in the "academic" percussion fields I guess you could say.
