Xpensiv shock-mounts piss me off.

I paid almost $400 for 2 Royer shock mounts for my pair of 121's recently, because I thought I had no choice. That sucked. But I was on Mercenary's site recently, and there were mounts for 121's for $72.

Wha' happened??? Did they introduce a cheaper mount because not enough people were as stupid as I was to actually pay $195?


Mood today: Grouchy.
 
Shit, $72 dollars is a ridiculous amount. We're talking, what? a couple metal rings, a mic stand fitting, a mic clamp with a little felt and some elastic bands. We're not talking about hand brushed platinum here.
 
I understand that makes you mad. If I were you I'd give both Royers to me. :D Dave.
 
and if he gets the royer's than I think you should give me the shock mounts. I'll give you some mic clips in return, they fit SM58's so they'll be good for all the other mics you have.

I share your frustration. I paid what I think a hundred bucks for my Blue shockmount. It felt cheap as hell and the screw thing broke without much pressure. Funny thing is I used my mxl 990 mount thing with the inner part of my blue shockmount, they almost seemed made for each other and were indentical in feel and color. Its kinda bullshit to pay that much for chinese crap that doesn't last a year.
