xp pro compatibility

does anyone know if theres anyway to find out if all the stuff in my computer will work with xp pro? One of the sound cards I'm using is a D-man 2044. I know sonar is ok, but I don't want to install xp pro and find out my sound cards no longer work. Any help out there?

P.S. I know I should be looking for a new sound card but, money's kinda tight right now. A Delta 1010 is next on my list. I want to get the xp pro so I can use the DXi in sonar at this point.

as long as you have xp drivers for all your hardware, xp should work fine...hardware driver updates are easily available on the internet, except when you really need them..

using Sonar and a lot of DXi or 'live input' mode, will require a lot of cpu.

You can either download the Upgrade advisor from Microsoft that runs scans your entire harddrive telling which programs and hardware are supported. If you get a hardware driver warning from the advisor, you then need to check with the manufacturer for updated drivers. Download here:

i have the same card (D-man 2044) and so far i can't get it to work with xp pro.
