A friend of mine has this card for audio recording and cannot get the Aux2 in (on the front bay) to work with the native Windows XP drivers. That input worked perfectly under Win98. She downloaded what looked like the driver upgrade from the creative website but these report that she hasnt got a Soundblaster live card (presumably thinking she has a 5.1). Does anyone know of any drivers that would work with this early Livedrive version of SBlive plat?

Anyone? Someone must have successfully used the original Livedrive Soundblaster Platinums with Window XP.

..Umh, I think Creative just released their latest WinXP driver for SBLive! cards on Feb 03. It's said solves many thing. Have you check their site ? I don't use the LiveDrive, but SB Live! ??? Yes I do...:D

Thanks Jaymz, for that. To be honest I downloaded the only driver that seemed to fit the bill and it failed. Still I hope both your Korg Sp-100 and demised 20G hard disk enjoy many more days in the sun!

The Oracle of the Korg.;) With his lazer still at the ready.

I have installed the Win2000/XP drivers for SB live platinium (the old version) and they work just fine. email me (ronentat@yahoo.com) if you want more information.
Although the drivers work fine, the SB sound card is no good. I'm no longer using it (bought an Aardvard LX6 which is great).

Thanx Nenor for your reply,

Does your Front panel Aux2 work? Where did you find the drivers?

I got the drivers from the SB site. There are several versions and at least one of them works. I'll get my stuff together and let you know the exact version.
One other thing: check the cable that connects the PCI card with the front panel. Make sure the connections are secure and that the front panel also receives power. This drove me crazy once.
If the drivers are your problem and you can't solve it I can send you a copy of what I have.

Thanks johnhoe!!! Gee, you still remember my Korg SP-100 :D And thanks for the 20G HD.
BTW, I could be wrong, but I heard they put different driver for different region site. I think the latest Creative driver I know was released on Feb 28, 2003 which you can download here in this link to Creative ASIA. Make sure you follow the instruction. I downloaded the full version (23,32 MB) and do total reinstall instead af upgrade... Hope it works the best for you...

johnhoe,
The drivers I have are older than the ones James Argo pointed out.
I have three installer programs by these names:
pc2full.exe (about 15mb)
PC2XPDrvUpdate.exe (1.8mb)
SBLiveXPDrvUpdate.exe (9mb).
If I remember right I installed the last one, not as an update for a previous driver but a clean install. It installed drivers and the Audio HQ and Surround Mixer programs. Nothing else - no players of any kind. It worked fine for me because that's all I wanted from the card anyway.

I think you better try first the drivers James Argo mentioned - they're more up to date. If you still want to check out mine let me know.
Good luck.

Thanx to you both Jaymz and Nenor, for the details of the driver(s). I know that my friend Sue will be monitoring this BBS and will now be able to download some drivers that will hopefully work.

Jaymz have you sorted out that hard disk yet??

Best Wishes

I'm workin' on it... And I see some great progress here !!! I couldn't stand working with only one 3.2 GB 5400RPM HD :( (It's taken from my Linux PC for server only). I'll buy some 40GB 7200 tommorow. Thanks for the wishes, johnhoe... :)
