Xlr to xlr neccessary for at2020?

I'm planning on getting a at2020 xlr tomorrow and was wondering why people all suggest buying another xlr to xlr cable. Does the at2020 not come with one already so why would you need to buy another one? I plan on using it with maudio fast track. If I were to get one what would be good, neutrik or heatshrink. Please and thanks.
 
If you already have one and don't plan on using two mics at once you are set.

Usually mics are sold without cables, unless it's some kind of "special" or a package deal.

Live Wire are fine, so are B.L.U.E. Kiwis if you can find them for $30. Don't pay $50 for the Kiwi.

You need an XLR > XLR because the phantom power is only available through the XLR inputs on the FastTrack.

I'm pretty sure the at2020 comes with an xlr to xlr cable so I'm set.
 
Looks like they have the first one in a 25' length for $37.

As long as the solder joints are solid one is about as good as another connector-wise. As long as you don't get all Roger Daltrey.
 
I think I'll go with the Neutrik one, it'll save me $12 or so.
 
To answer an earlier question, yes, Neutrik connectors are generally worth the money. Mechanically, they are more robust than a lot of cheapie "no-name" connectors and the strain relief/cable grips tend to work well even if you DO get a bit Roger Daltry!

There are other decent brands too of course, but Neutrik is a known quantity.
