XLR to phono

Do XLR to phono adapters exist? My mixer just died and I need to know how to go directly line in to my Mac laptop.

yes. you can get them at radioshack. It would probably be cheaper to actually just get a xlr to phono cable.

If you are trying to hook up a mic it won't work without a preamp.
