Just got a pair of JBL LSR 305 studio monitor speakers. My audio's coming out of a zoom r8 with balanced left and right outputs. The JBL's have two balanced in's: XLR or TRS. Does it make any difference soundwise which I use?

no.

sound-on-sound magazine did an in-depth investigation into connectors a few years back and determined that xlr's and trs's have virtually the same contact area and resistance. even rca's aren't too far behind. they just suggested that we should stay away from 1/8" plugs whenever we can as they DO have less area and more resistance.
