hello. could i send a headphone signal through a wall like this:
headphone out -> neutrik combo xlr/trs connector -> through the wall with xlr cable -> neutrik combo xlr/trs connector -> headphones
i'm just unsure about connecting the combo jacks with ordinary xlr cable (cut the ends off a mic cable, and solder it onto the jacks), and then plugging the headphones into the combo xlr/trs jack.
will that arrangement succesfully carry the stereo headphone signal? i would think so, but i didn't want to purchase all the parts, wire everything up, and find out something doesn't work. you see, the combo jacks are cheaper than stereo 1/4" jacks, and i have tons of mic cable i could cut up...
