Así o más verger?
hey im thinking about getting a new sound card and i was looking for a 2496 Audiophile in musicians friend.
but my question is, what are the differences between de pci and the usb version (besides the obvious ones)??

If you have an open slot in your PC, use the PCI version.

If you don't have an open slot, if you are using a laptop, or if you need portability, then use the USB version.

Peace...

Or skip the USB version altogether and get something for FiWi or USB 2.0 (I think Edirol has something). I wouldn't buy the crop of USB 1.1 audio interfaces out there now - they're already obsolete. And tend to misbehave a lot. I expect that in my bass players, but not my software...:D

i dont need portability, but i want quiality
so in terms of quality both are the same?

Nope - USB 1.1s have more dropouts, can't do 24/96, can't do as many channels at once.

FiWi is probably as good as PCI, so is USB 2.0 (in theory - it's gotta share bandwidth with a lot of other devices, though) --- but there are still only a couple of FiWi interfaces, and only one USB 2.0 that I'm aware of.

PCI's your best bet unless you think you might switch to laptop in the next year or two - then FiWi might be a good idea.
