I recently purchased a novation x-station 25 and a new dell E520 computer with xp and am trying to use cubase3 and reason3
I have updated the os and installed the latest usb driver 1.1 from the website but the asio xstation driver that is recommended will not work, sound goes to the programs but I cannot hear anything out from either the computer speaker or the headphones on the x-station, the asio directx fully duplex driver works but has latency problem
can you advise or tell me where I could seek help

ASIO and DirectX are two separate types of drivers, and there's no reason the ASIO drivers that came with it should be unable to get you going. DirectX is a different protocol entirely and that's what causing the latency.

Did you buy the x-station new? If so, give the dealer a call and see if they can help. It can be a real pain to try to chat back and forth on a BBS to solve a problem like this, which is probably caused by something quite simple.
