Anyone around here have an old Wurlitzer electric or a Fender Rhodes they're ready to part with????
Ive been crusing the net for the past month looking for places that sell these old beasts but the only site that really has any is of course EBAY.... and I dont want to buy one of these mammoths off there without hearing it first, testing it out ect...

Sure, i could get one of the new modelers but they just dont have the same feel and sound. Besides it some cases it seems cheaper to just buy the real thing since they usually go for around 500 dollars on Ebay.
So does anyone have any tips as to where one should check to find one of these old electric pianos?

any thoughts?

Rhodes Stage Piano

I'm ready to part with mine, but I'm not going to ship it anywhere.

Where are you?

Carl

damn, im a little south of you in Orlando.
Ive been watching the classified for a year now with no luck, its killing me...

I can understand you not wanting to ship it, ive seen that the standard costs are around $100 not including insurance. However, if you ever change your mind let me know, we can work something out!
:p

now, i kinda wish i would have accepted the offer to go to West Point, I'd be a little ways up the road:)

you can sometimes find a wurlie for under 400; of course that depends where you are...they seem to be everywhere here in the "live capital of the world". at any rate, do check the ads in lauderdale n miami...my uncle told me about one a while back in coral gables.... miami is one of those recording towns that folks forget so you might have a chance looking down there.

I picked up mine in a pawn shop in Utah, call all the pawn shops in your area...If they have one, usually they really want to get rid of it because they are heavy and take up too much space. I think I paid 75 bucks for my suitcase(the one with the built in amp).

thees an old fender rhodes sitting in the music go round in shawnee kansas. for 200.00 I belive.

Don't you mean Live MUSIC Capital of the World?
(Howdy neighbor!):)

mr. jones, you are correct. i would blame someplace like the hole in the wall or the dog & duck pub for my mistake but i think it was actually the drive-in bongo's beer/bbq joint.

and how 'bout sxsw? go see the band End of the West if ya got the chance either on sunday at the hideout or on tuesdays from 7-9 at the 710 Room.

I made a trade today that scored me a wurlurtzer piano. They get my hot tub cover(an extra one Ive got from working on them). and I get the piano. Now I have a Hammond b3, wurlerzer piano, along with a few synths. all for less than a total of 250.00. and I only parted ways with cash for the synths.

My thread has been resurrected from the dead!

Darrin you make me sick when i see the gear you have... a couple synths, a wurlie and a b3?? nice:) How do you like the wurlie so far?

Ill start checking the pawn shops in the area, hopefully I'll find something eventually:(

A B3? In Europe, there only 20 known B3's (they estimate the real amount on 100) and people pay up to $20 000 for it.

Also wurlitzers and Rhodes are hard to find over here.

I visited a pawn shop today. the result; Korg Mono/Poly $20.00 ouch man. I has one dead key but all other funtions look good. Ill be fixing it tonight. Not bad for a couple of days... huh.

Check out the big piano and organ stores also. Sometimes they get them as trade-ins from people who dont know any better. A B3 would be hard to find but other Wurli's and B Hammonds pop up from time to time.

Wow and to think that old lady paid me 50.00 to haul it off. So Do You Want To Buy It? Your Offer For 20,000 seems reasonable.
