Wuhan has no quality control. Every cymbal sounds completely different. Don't get one without hearing it first.

Also - keep in mind that Wuhan's cymbals are EXTREMELY Thin.
Not a good "main Ride" for somebody playing Rock. It would work good as an accent ride for lighter material, but I just don't think they would hold up to somebody who was really an "abuser" of cymbals.

i had a 20" ride from wuhan, it sucked, now ive heard that the sound vary's even in the same model, so all i can say is try it out first

im in a love/hate relationship with wuhan...
their chinas are great, but the splash....
ehhhh
they are a little too inconsistent in my opinion...
i do like how thin their cymbals are tho

I had a Wuhan set, and I kinda liked them, except they all sounded slightly 'chinaish'...that is, they all had that china sound in them, even though they were hats, ride, splash and crash. I got rid of all my Wuhans except the 10" splash...I kinda like it for what it is...If I got another splash it would actually sound like a splash though, and the wuhan doesn't really...

I have lots of experience with wuhan, although I`m a Zildjian player myself.....
Some wuhan rides are pretty thick. Like the Medium heavy, wich is great for heavy rock. Nice ping.
The medium ride is versatile. it`s not too thin, not too heavy, but right in the middle.
Wuhan are, as mentioned different from cymbal to cymbal, but great quality compared to price! (and the best chinas! I`ve got 4 of them)

I use a 22" Paiste Rude Power ride that is 26 years old, so to me the Rock rides that I saw were thin - that's why I gave the warning.
Agreed, the China's are hard to beat, although I use Paiste's; the Wuhan's wouldn't simply hold up - I used a 2S for years - and now I use the Jeff Queen signature drum-corps stick which is bigger than a 2S. But I do love the sound of the Wuhan's, and I played them over the years.
It's too bad their quality control isn't better, but that would raise the price immensely.

Your ride is a pretty heavy ride (Rude Power ride)
A Wuhan Medium heavy ride is not as thick as that.

just skip out on wuhan (unless your on a tight budget), and go with sabian (my favorite - aax series) but the best ride i've ever heard was a zildjian K

I still used it in the recording session that I discovered it in though.................added an element of Bozzio
here's a story.. I once hired cymbals & 2 nights running I discovered cracks in one of the crashes (2 different sets) before I started the gig!!!
on taking them back I asked him if he inspected the cymbals much??? "no" he answered. "Well I've discovered cracks!!" said I
I explained that I was playing sort of fusion/hiphoppy type stuff & also that I havn't cracked a cymbal ever (I've been drummin' since I was 3!!!!!!!!dailly)
On being threatened with replacement value etc etc he let it slip that "a metal drummer hired this set 3 days ago!!!"
