i have a tascam msr16 that suddenly wont record but still plays back any hints

I'm not sure that this is the right place for your question, but in any case we'll need more info from you. What model Tascam is it? What media- cassette, open reel?

Can you be more specific about what it's doing? When you hit play+record, does the transport turn but nothing goes to tape? Does nothing happen, etc.?
