Go to www.musiciansfriend.com and order the 6 pack of stands with bag for $99. Not top end stuff but it'll get you by. I've been using them live for 2 years and they're OK if you con't abuse them. Order a pop filter for about $20 or build one with an embrodiery (?) hoop and panty hose for less than $5. Get the hoop at a craft shop or cloth store.
