I'm currently looking at getting a Samson C03 multi-pattern condenser to be used as the "side" in order to try my skills at Mid/Side recording with an SM-57 or Audix SD condenser as the "mid".

Anyone selling any figure-8 mic which is any better than the C03? I need a figure-8 mic before next Saturday.

Any help will be appreciated. Thanks!

Ugh... After a couple of hours of researching, my head is spinning. I had no idea the cheap market in ribbon mics was so huge. I've honed it down to these:

MXL R144
Nady RSM-4
Nady RSM-5
Samson VR88
Apex 205

I'm leaning toward the Nady RSM-5. Any thoughts?

Also - I've never had any experience with ribbon mics, so be gentle.

I have it.
For the price, it's outstanding.
Lacks a bit of fullness but is fairly transparent.
I think you'll have a few uses for this one but you will need a fair bit of gain to make it work for you.
Having said that, I've found that the RSM 5 requires less juice than other passive ribbons.

mind if I ask why it has to be figure 8?

He mentioned he needs a "side" mic for mid-side stereo recording.

Things brings up something that the OP should keep in mind when looking to ribbon mics for the "side" mic. A good number of ribbons don't have a symmetrical figure of eight pattern. Meaning, one side may be brighter than the other. This is generally OK for many applications. However, for a "side" mic, you need a symmetrical figure of eight. You need the front to sound like the back. Otherwise, you will not get a good stereo image out of your mid-side technique.
