Hey blackbuck,

I recorded my stuff on my trusty Yahmmy 4 Track--all inputs
run through a 16 channel Mackie board. I do have Cakewalk
in my computer and use it for converting files basically.
I may try to go digital sometime, but I haven't scratched the
surface of what the 4 Track can do...

I don't think people will throw darts in this thread and most
everyone around here has been nothing but supportive.

Gina is my second wife--lots of people finally get it right the
second time around. I was with my first lady for almost 20yrs.

I'm not sure how old you are, but one thing that I have learned
is that you don't find love---it finds you!!

About the thread--just like starting a regular coffee house,etc.--
--It starts small and as long as you persevere others will join in--
--maybe not on every topic, but they will--keep going every week
even if it's just you and me---Build it and they shall come.....

Music will follow soon---On to the next topic in the meantime!!!!!

Yowsa, that's a challenge! Lets see here....

"Know How it Feels"

If you truly love something
I’ve been told to let it go
If it leaves or it comes back
Either way you’ll know

Well I’ve lost sons and daughters that way
I’ve lost silver and gold
And I’ve lost years to clutching fears
That I was afraid to let go.

If that’s how you feel, I know.

I haven’t live that long, so far
But I see the way things are going
Losing friends and collecting regrets
And forgetting more than I’m growing

If that’s how you feel, I know

(Chorus)
Thank God nothing works out as planned
Just forget the regrets and move on
Thank God I never committed to things
I couldn’t live with myself for doing
And somehow I’ve made it this long

If you truly love something
There is no room for fear
What was it that drove you away, my friend?
What do you see in that mirror?

I know how you feel, I know.

But its no use running from something
Unless you know what you’re running to.
It easy to leave behind troubles and anger
But they’ll always catch up with you.

I know how you feel, I know.

(Chorus)
Thank God nothing works out as planned
Just forget the regrets and move on
Thank God I never committed to things
I couldn’t live with myself for doing
And somehow I’ve made it this long

This bbs is going to kill me. I was planning on getting to sleep early today... :D

Hi Chris,

Nice lyric even if you had to stay up half the night.lol

Three writers--three entirely different takes on the same
article---interesting,eh???

Yeah, analog4. I guess that's would be expected.

I found last night that I really didn't want to write anything about that guy. Its just not my kind of subject. But I let it settle for a few minutes and touched upon something that I *could* identify with- making choices I had come to regret.

Once I made the theme mine it was easy to write words inspired by that guys situation and have the song still mean something to me. It was a fantastic challenge and I'm kinda proud of myself for accepting it. I would not normally have even read that article of bothered to identify with the story in any way. I learned, though, that you can get mileage out of *anything* if you look at it right.

Fun.

Chris, that's some good stuff!

It doesn't necesarrily have to be exactly dialed into the article, that was just something to start us off.

I'll try again to post my stuff. Maybe we should do this every other week! It's taken me alot longer than I thought.

A4, that's a pretty simple setup. It sounds pretty good though, I never could use mine well.

I just ask because I have found my copy of acid to be great for writing- I can try adding parts and deleting, etc, really quickly.

Ok, new topic... tommorrow though!

I still use my paper! I do like using the computer now for writing... I can type faster! Sometimes a handheld recording works wonders for "getting it all" too.
