Does anybody know what the WOW effect in media player actually does?
My theory is that it pans frequencys in a certain way.
I would like to recreate the effect when recording for certain things, but i have no clue how to go about this.
 
WOW is more or less Bass Enhancer/Spatial Expander. The effect can be very closely simulated by the likes of a Roland SD-330, TC Electronics 1210, Peavey Kosmos, or a BBE Sonic Maximizer, to name but a few hardware units.
 
I like the spatial effect. Called and asked if it could be had as prg./plug, they are not interested in that market. Looks like the only way to use it as an effect is to bounce to 16/44 cda, play and record the output of the media player. I think they might be doing a bunch of slice n' dice of the signal.(?)
