Ok, I built a new machine and formatted my hardrives. I re-installed all my software and to check it (soundforge, cool edit) I was going to just rip a track from a cd and do some processing on it, test my new speed. But, to my dismay, niether program would open a CD track. Thnking back I seems they were looked at as .wav files, I could be wrong, but now it seems thay are .cda files. I'm really confused. Please help.

i think i know what happend

if you have .cda files on your computer u didn't rip the cd properly, just copyed what was on the cd to your hard drive, try doing it again, make sure you know your saving the .cda files(cd songs) as .wav files cause i don't think most programs let u edit .cda. just a guess.
