I mean, yes, it was noticed here that prices do go up. still ..as I'm watching this stuff happening... I don't really know what to think.
I'm just glad I've got few machines before this madness have started.
I've got 32 for ten times! less, well mine had no roller-stand/nor rack-ears, while has bent leg and no title plate ;) ... still about the same machine in good shape.

I'm shopping for 8-track now... and the situation scares me. :eek: :eek: :eek:

I wouldn't put too much stock in "0" feedback bidders. You can most likely breath again now .. ;) ... I hope .... :eek:

In fact, if you wanna go by PrePal, the only "vintage" TASCAM gear which seems to be consistently rising in value is the TASCAM 388, M30 and MX-80 mixers, the last two being in kinda short supply which may explain, at least in part, their rising values.

yeah, i've noticed "0"s too :p ... I know what'cha mean. still....
While I am keepping my eye on it simply because I'm trying to spot some 8-track reel machine... I must say, that the deals I've seen in the past and thought it's too much couple month ago, now I wish I jumped 'on em back then...cos it's not getting any better at all. I also have noticed the same thing in the area of stuff like vintage spring reverb/amps, vintage effects, tape delay machines etc.... (well, these things were not so cheap, because mostly they are rare....), but R-t-Rs !?... , maybe I am wrong and missed something, but it looks like the prices on recording machines started going up and up just during last few months/last year or so...
well, I may be mistaken...

Yes, I have noticed that too but I was just going by PrePal which actually tracks these units (for quite a while now) and gives you an average price and trend up or down. However, it may not give an indication, yet, of what may have started happening in the last little while ... ;)

It's at average $185 based on 102 units tracked, going down ... (again, according to PrePal).

Did I tell'ya, I picked up those brand new 388 heads from Wildflower Soul? Got a brand new record/play head, erase head & pinch roller for the 388,... to keep as reserve at this time, & until further notice. For the record, my 388's are running fine. I calibrated one of them several months ago, for that 0/0 response, that we hold so dear!;)

Wildflower Soul purchased a 388 about 2 years ago (?)

(sometime, back a while ago!)...

His 388 came from the previous seller with the brand new heads & pinch roller, as an extra bonus. Wildflower Soul recently sold his 388 to pick up an MSR-16, and the heads/pw were leftover items. I bought them on private sale, but he'd previously listed them on Ebay, & most recently put the notice out on this bbs. So, there'ya have it.

Eh,... I have it! ;)
