I'm brand new to recording. I have a basic computer and that's it. I need to record my voice onto CD for a project. My voice needs to sound really profesional and I need the CD to play in regular CD players. I need to make multiple tracks, quite a bit actually, and put all this on CD. Can someone please tell me how the heck I go about doing this. Thanks - Mike

Hi Mike,
Do a search in the Newbie forum.
"Really professional" is the key phrase I think here.
If this is just for one project and it needs to sound absolutely professional I'd go to a studio and have someone do the engineering for you rather than taking the time to buy expensive equipment and spend the time learning how to use it. If, however, you are interested in getting into recording as a hobby, profession etc. then more power to you, check out the Newbie forum for advice on how to begin.

Best of luck.

Thats very good advice.

If you think you can save money by doing it yourself, you can't. You have to invest hundreds of hours into gear that you buy to make it pay yourself back. Even a meager initial investment into recording gear is several hundred dollars.
