Whats the best RAP MIC??!
Hey guys. I just started to record a new song with my acoustic guitar into REAPER. For whatever reason, the KSM44 I am using picked up a weird high frequency ringing that is ruining everything. If any of you would be willing to try to sweep the frequencies for me and remove that ringing, let me know. I really would appreciate it because I just do not know enough yet to successfully do it without sacrificing the sound I already like. Thanks and let me know. Oh and by the way, if you end up helping me out, it would be really neat if you could write exactly what process you did to remove it, for future reference. Thanks and have a great weekend!

EDIT: Here are the tracks

Alright guys thanks for the help, I really do appreciate it. Here is the full song wet (not even close to done tracking yet, started it yesterday)

Here is the first guitar raw

Here is the second raw guitar

You can import them into your daw just like that, the timing is correct. Thanks again and let me know if you need anything else. thanks!

Oh and the room is fully acoustically treated. that is why I am unsure where the ringing came from.

I'll take a look at it for you if you provide a link to the file.

Well, Mike, I had a few problems to start off:

First of all, the two filename links you provided are identical; they point to the same file.

Second, I did try downloading the first file, but the download cut off after about 6MB. That could have been my provider or your file server, I don't know why it cut off. I could try again later. But...

I did get enough of the one file to get the first 25 seconds or so of the recording, so I gave it a look and listen. I gotta tell ya, I find no ringing or anything else out of the ordinary in there whatsoever, not in the silence at the beginning, nor in the first few bars of the guitar that I did manage to get. Does the ringing start for yoo later in the recording, or is it maybe a playback problem and not something in the recording itself?

I wonder if the OP is playing back a recorded track with the mike still live, and is getting feedback via speakers?

I'm having the same problem with the file(s?).

I'll check back later.

hey guys. Nahh during playback the mic is off, it def during the recording. I will post up the file in an hour or so, let me figure out how to get it to you guys in a better way.

I think I found the source of my problem. In the booth I was sitting on one of those metal folding chairs while I was tracking. I am an idiottttt hahaha

Oh, please. You guys invented the old "metal folding chair in the booth" trick, right before the old "mortar hidden behind a rock on the 14th fairway" trick.

You keep up those lies and you'll wind up being demoted to doctor on The Love Boat.

Now leave me alone. I'm still depressed that I wound up getting stuck with Barbara Feldon and not Diana Rigg.
