Acid 4 keeps crashing. And when it doesn't crash in the middle of something, some error message appears after closing the program.......sorry but this is the best I can do with that message:

something about access violation
something about a module
something about a stack dump......a whole lot of jibberish after this one.

I'm running a P4 2.66GHz
256 DDR

Is there anything else you need to know?
Thanks a bunch as it's getting extremely annoying to say the least.

Had Acid ever worked properly for you?
Have you recently installed any other programs or plugins?
Have you updated Acid to version 4.0f?

Thanks for replying so quickly.
Acid has always worked great and no, I haven't installed anything new recently.
I have version 4.0e. Would it make that much of a difference with the newer version?

Not sure about Acid, but when CEP starts acting up like that I find defragging the drives helps most of the time.

Good luck!

Yes, it's legal.

Already tried the defragging........but thanks for your suggestion.

Does anyone know how much time that download takes.......the update?
I'm on a crappy dial-up.

Thanks again.

A few hours most likely ... fortunately I've got 3meg broadband service so it was just a matter of minutes. :D

Well now.........I think I'll just try the uninstall-reinstall thingie first then........lol
Thanks for your help.

hey before you do that save all your files man......

you will want to go to acid 4.o folder and copy all you files and save them to a new folder on your desk top or create a new folder called "my 4.0 acid files" and save that folder in "my Documents folder" that way when you re install it you will have all your songs still there,

If you don't you will loose all your stuff you previously recorded or worked in.

Wow....thanks. I had been wondering about that so haven't done anything yet.
What about the VSTi's? Will they still be there?
I'm not the brightest when it comes to things like this?
Thanks again.

Vsts

did you by them seperate? if so they sould be installed in their own folders.

So when you reinstall acid it should be ok.

Acid will locate them apon reinstall and put them in your effects chain, usually in 3rd party folder.
