Hi folks,

I dont know if anyone has come up with this idea before, but here it goes:

I'm a home recording musician and I play basically everything, but specifically the bass.

I´m looking for other home/pro musicians to record a music on a world-wide basis. The idea is that each player be from a different place (country, state, city). I'm in Brazil. And would be best if we dont really know each other. Except by this site.

We can begin by (1)selecting basic players: drums, guitars (1,2, or 3), bass(me), etc. (2)Then we came up with a song and the procedure on how we're going to do it being very appart from each other. I believe the best way is to decide which instrument is the basic instrument of the music (some musics are based upon the drums, other upon a guitarr, etc). (3)then we decide how and who will record first and the next players to record. (4) the final project arrives at the one who will mix everything together.

How about that? Do I have any volunteer?

PS: I already have a song in mind if we decide not to spend a lot of time with this. Also I can do most of the work like recording a guitar/vocal version for you to listen and at the end mix everything.

Another thing: for better acceptance, the song style will be pop-rock.

PS: When I say I do basically everything, it includes vocal. But Id like to have each part of the song from a different artist .....

An interesting idea, could be good to do here.
In case you didn't know, this type of thing's already going on in various places. You might like to look at Collaboration Central:

Hi Hugo! I really didnt know Collaboration Central. Its very nice and Im even already up to do some help over there on a post that needs a bassist. But I could see that the Collaboration Central is more like a "help me on this" than a song project.

I would really like to gether up some players and record a song on a project basis ... are you in with your piano/keyboard experties?

You're right that CC is more a "help me" than a songwriting place for many. However, folks do things like post lyrics and then get a musician to create the music and then together they start grabbing people for tracks. Often the music goes unexpected places.

I think your step 2, the actual songwriting, will be the hard part of your project. That's a difficult thing to do with many people at a time, particularly if they're not in the same room. But I certainly wish you the best with it because, in my opinion, that's the fun part :)

Anyway, no, I won't be able to put the time into it. If you absolutely get stuck for some backing keys give me a yell, but I'm very busy at the moment with some other projects.

Have fun!

Hey,

I wouldn't mind taking part in this. I've been wanting to do something like this for a while. I'm a guitarist, if you still need one.

I'll give it a shot. Also a guitarist mainly, although I do play a bit of keys and bass if necessary. You can check out my stuff at

to get a feel for my style. Lemme know,

edit: BTW, i'm in the netherlands...

I play a wicked triangle. But right now my only recording option is 4 track cassette. If you want to send me a cassette, let me know.

I'm interested in this too. I'm a guitar player and singer. lemme know if your still doing it.
