Very nice NL5.

I love the gritty sound that you have in your voice in parts of the song. Nice guitar work as well. Sounds good to me and I would not lie to you - hehe
 
sounds good, the vocals could use a tiny bit more air, or maybe just a slight volume boost. Love the background vox sound too.

are those real drums? i like the snare. its nice and big sounding but doesn't step on anything else in the mix. i woulda put a tad more gain on that guitar lead, but hey that's just me. anyway sounds good so far NL5.

Do they sound fake? Actually, there is a snare sample mixed in there, but the majority of the snare sound is coming thru in the OH's.

The vocal is what I am having trouble with - it sounds ok dry, but I put any effects on it, and it sounds great here, but I take it and play it anywhere, and it sounds thin and kinda hollow, Can't figure out why.

I agree the vox need some boostin'...the drums sound nice...no problems with the snare IMO...sounds like a nice snare..good choice sound for the tune...

Actually, not that I think of it, maybe you can help me out a touch..I'll send ya a PM so I don't hijack yer thread here :)

I think the tune sounds good aside from the vox issues....true to it's genera.
 
Yeah, a couple or 3 db boost on the vocal. Personally, I'd turn down the wah a bit when it's competing with the vocal.

Sounds really good man.
 
Great groove to this..I really like the vocals...agree the lead vocal could be a bit more upfront.Cool tune......

The vox will definitely get a boost, and I will automate the lead guitar as well. The lead is going to be redone today, so I didn't do any automation yet. The vocal is what I was most concerned about - and everybody has said it's too low, so I will try that first.
 
Ditto on the vocals needing a little boost. They sound great, just bring em up some. Maybe give the whole mix a little more 'air'. The mix levels all sound fantastic though. Great drums. :)

no no the drums sound really good, almost TOO good haha that's why i asked. but i love the snare on this tune.

Ya know, me and my drummer friend who helped with the session, both thought the actual snare was going to suck. The bands drummer said he got it for $50, and it had a piece of a rag duct taped to the top head. But, when we started listening to the playback, it actually sounded GREAT. I mixed another one of their songs with no samples, and it sounded just as good. Like I said, the majority of the snare sound is coming from the OH's anyway. Another big reason for the drum sound, is the room. I have a very live, fairly large room, that sounds great on drums IMHO.
 
Yeah...I think so.

One thing...the very beginning, right before the drums come in...the timing there is pretty loose. I noticed it the first time I listened but didn't say anything about it. You might slide the lead over a couple of micro-whatevers, lol.
 
Rework is really good - the vocals remind me slightly of a mix of the singer from Budgie & Maggy Bell combined.
The drums do sound tres bonn.
The image is a little left leaning because of the rhythm guitar though.

The funny thing is, she doesn't like them.....I thought they sounded pretty good , there was just some weirdness going on with my end of things. That seems to be gone now.

Sounds really cool Gunnar....vocals sound more like the focus now...nice job there. I think the voice is great.....really makes it cool. Music is mixed well, and it seems very cohesive. Nice job man.... :cool:
