Work-for-Hire Problem Solved?

Hey guys,

I just saw this article on Billboard today that will effectively change the "work-for-hire" laws back to how they used to be. This will cancel out some of what Courtney Love said in her speech. Here's the link http://www.billboard.com/daily/2000/0809_02.asp

Not that it really matters to independent artists or anything ('cause we are our own label). Just thought that you may be interested to know.

I don't understand what this "works for hire" stuff is about.


ps. Rev E, this is off topic, but seeing that you are from my hometown (Columbus, OH) there were some things that I wanted to ask you via email about the music scene in Columbus, employment, etc. in case I ever go back there.
