wood rack rails?

i'm building racks for some of my gear, and i'm considering just making the rails of wood. I've seen this done before, even on commercial products. Is there a good reason to go with metal rack rails?

anyone with nice rack designs out there?

I built all my racks some have metel rack rails but the rest are 3/4" plywood. Works like a charm.

Wood will do fine - metal racks are good if you are changing gear around all the time

I was trying to figure out the hole spacing to use for my patchbay and I kept getting different measurements off of different racks. To save you the trouble of trying to figure out the hole spacing use anywhere from 18 1/4" to 18 9/16". I used 18 1/2 to keep it simple and it works great.
