an album with a few skits between the songs

or an album with no skits at all

(the skits are not neccessarily anything INCREDIBLY CREATIVE - like say De La Soul used to do ) . . perhaps - sound clips of a recorded interview from when the artist was on tv, some "in-the-studio- antics between mic takes (like freestyles and bloopers)

feedback please

The first tme listening to an album skits are cool, but after the first listen they always get skipped by me. I think College Dropout (K. West) had way too many skits, so I guess you can over do it.

tru indeed. i hate the over done ones my self. whlich is y i figured let me pose this

now, at the same time, i personally love!!!!! "rap skits" where the em cee just drops a a hot verse or two - acapella n shit!! it shows skills for one, plus its harder to get "old" and borin - u usually hear different lines and ideas each time.

plus too many people dont do this!!! im all for "party music" and even a lot of "bullshit" records - but at least drop some hot azz barz in the middle of the track listing . . . . (now here is a hell of a track listing for a cd project

1. "shake ya booty"
2. "drink till ya stink"
3. "ridin 4 life"
4. "gunz 101"
5. "born 2 be a dealer"
6. "keep ya booty shakin"
7. "mo drinks for me"
8. "ridin, after death"
10. "gunz 202 - the advanced lesson"
11. "from the woumb to the crack vile"

now havin this same line up broken up with some decent freestlyles would be lmore tolerable n forgining

1. intro freestyle: im nice like . .
2. "shake ya booty"
3. "drink till ya stink"
4. freestlye: y im stressed
5. "ridin 4 life"
6. "gunz 101"
7. "born 2 be a dealer"
8. freestyle: can i spit it?
9. "keep ya booty shakin"
10. "mo drinks for me"
11. "ridin, after death"
12. "gunz 202 - the advanced lesson"
13. "from the woumb to the crack vile"
14. out-tro freestlye: battle for the crown

hee hee

now them some bangin song titles! :D

I like skits but true.. there can be too many.

Looks like you have a good amount there. Random funny ish or freestyles are usually cool. I say it's all good just as long as the CD flows together well. Just don't make em so long that I forget I'm listening to a music CD. If it is long throw it at the end though...

i really dont like skits...but i dont mind lil short transitional talking or interlude between songs to kinda keep the mood and flow going...but just throwing some random corniness in there you thought of when you were high disrupts an album..

especially if it goes on too long.

i hate when independant cats do shit like play whole audio scenes from scarface or some gangster movie as an interlude LOL.

LOL.
I also hate those, along with the predictable poorly acted out skits. JR Writer's album for example, somewhere in the lines of....

"Yeah I heard he got an aston martin"...
"He the only n***a in the hood with an aston martin"...
"He said (blah blah blah) in ond of his rhymes"...
"Oh look there he goes now! Told you he had an aston martin!"

That's not directly quoted. But pointless never the less, poorly acted out, and predictable. As is the whole album...lol I thought he was gonna have the best album from the Diplomats because of his mixtape work.

One of the skits I do like is on Kanye's Late Registration.
"Broke-Phi-Broke"...lmao they had me crackin' up.
