Hey everyone,

I would like some feedback on this instrumental. Firstly forgive the programmed drums, I am still working on this aspect of my recordings.

I was very dubious in posting this tune up as I personally think it lacks substance in the actual writing department.
However any feedback on the recording, the mix and even the structure etc would be greatly appreciated.

The song is called "Withdrawal Symptoms"

I am having trouble with the player so it can be accessed at my Soundclick page. The link is at the bottom of this post!...Sorry I have to send you via the Soundclick page!:(

Thanx in advance! :)

I heard Gorty plays this in a pink bikini!!

The guitaring is fun and emotional, reminds me of Satch in a werid way. My limited comments include::: Sounds a little bright on MY PC speakers. The drums do not sound that bad only repetive at times. IT fades out, nooooo!!! Too short for a GFCG leader!!! :) :) Get the bikini back on and goooo to work GFCG leader!! A- from the sea :)

HI GORTY:

I can´t download (nor listen) the one you send, then I download of soundclick (same version, I hope?)

And...
Very good, my friend!

Nice GTR solo tone (and theme)
Like of 2 clean L/R guitars too.
And very , very good bass sound (sampler or a "played" bass?)
Nice mix too, with real drums even better (if you want...)

Ciro

Sorry guys, I have the link set up from lightning, but I think I have a dodgy file no#.

Hopefully it is fixed now!!

Thanx for your listen CIRO,

The bass is real bass, my Jackson bass guitar. I recorded it directly into my DAW with a little reverb.

Thanx again for your comments, I appreciate it so much CIRO. :)

Gorty :)

Error messages from the direct link so I went through the soundclick link at the bottom.
I like the guitar tones on this & the slight touch of M/Eastern melody gives an exoticism to proceedings.
The drums aren't too bad at all.
The L channel clean is a great foil for the dirty lead.
This is a good idea that just needs some more development mate as in a VOICE or gnarled lyric.
Well recorded & the mix seemed spot ontoo.

Thanx rayc for your comments. I am glad you picked up the slight Middle Eastern touch in the melody!!..It wasn't originally intended but when I stumbled upon it I decided to go with it!

Thanx again rayc for your time taken to listen! :)

Clean guitar (Left)
"tempo 2" with snare:

it works!

And...
(as you said that is having troubles with a new "G" string):
You record with "brand new" strings?

I HATE NEW STRINGS! (less than 1 week of use):D :D :D :D
Not the sound, I hate the "plastic feel"

Ciro

My songs here, thanks!

Hey CIRO,

I will change strings quite often, more regular on the guitars I use for live playing.
I find it very frustrating changing the strings on my classical guitars, the stretching, the stretching, the stretching!!!!! :( :(

Yeah

My brother plays a nylon string guitar too...

Is a big "fight" to tune new nylon strings, no? but on final, after a long battle we show it who is the boss :D :D :D

Hi r00!! This sounds familar!! :D

I want to listen to it at a louder volume, which must wait until tomarrow.

I would say crank up the right panned guitar just a tad in volume.

....it has magic dust all over it.

I want to learn this tune and jam down with you at Jamfest7. :D

Alright!! I will remind you r00!! Thanks :D :D

I dig this alot. Love your guitar playing. Hey man, nothing wrong with those programmed drums. Nice to hear SOMEONE get a good sound and groove from programmed drums. Nice and simple, but feels real.

I'm jealous of all these people who can really break down a tune and give specific advice. I just hear it as a whole and either like it or not. I like this....alot!!!...But it needs to be longer, dude!!!!

Thanx for listening RAMI,

I appreciate and value your comments regarding the drums, the sound and the groove. I really need to and will get around to learning and applying the programming of the drums with a little more proficiency.

This tune never really had any direction thus the feeling to me that it lacked substance and hence the shortness in length. I didn't want to drag this one out too much but a few comments have been made now about the length.

Thanx again RAMI for your time taken to listen. :)

Hey Gorty...just snuck a listen here at work....I enjoyed what I heard...nice picken'! I like the groove and agree with Rami, the drums sound good on this and not to canned.I like your style alot here, very tasteful playing.
Cool man!

Thanx variaxman for your listen and your comments. It is quite refreshing to have comments about this tune in contrast to what my personal take on it was. I guess you become very critical of your own playing, recording and mixing, especially when you really enjoy music and everything associated with it!

Thanx again variaxman! :)
