Ive confirmed all the building work for my new studio, and it will start in January. im VERY excited.

Im still a bit annoyed that I cant get a meterbridge for my desk, so i figured i could make my own using the channel inserts, or by doubling up every output.

Im looking for meters in the UK and i cant seem to find anything decent. I found a few VU meters on ebay and they were very expensive. Im more than certain that there would be a supplier for this kind of thing in the UK, and im sure they would cost next to nothing to buy. Its got the point where ive seen products that are cheaper than the components themself.

Does anyone know where I can buy either VU meters or LED meters in the UK?

Thanks for any help,
techno.

The LM3915 is a VU chip, all you need is that, a quad op-amp so you can monitor both sides of the signal (above and below 0), a few resistors, two diodes, and something to solder it all too. Oh, and 10 LED's or a 10-LED bargraph.

Just put the op amps before that to catch both halves of the waveform and you're good to go.

You never said how many channels you needed but, perhaps you could buy an old used bridge and adapt it to your board on a temporary basis. Like this. And then re-sell it when you do find one for your desk.

Just an idea.
