wiring question

I'm going to be mounting one of the wall plates containing a dozen or so xlr's today. I wired this myself with some canare quad 4 and there is approx. one inch of exposed wire where the cable meets the back of the xlr. My question is- do I need to take any steps to sheild or wrap this one inch of exposed wire or is it insignificant ? Thanks, Mike.

John is correct. 1" or wire will not make a very good antenna for the RFI.

If you are even remotely still concerned, you could do some funky stuff inside the wall with some thin sheet metal to create a shield around the whole assembly. But in this case, that may be excessive.

It's not expensive at all! You can use either aluminium foil to line the inside of the case or the black conductive paint used to shield the inside of guitar electronics cavities.
