IYO, who makes the best wireless uints for bass guitar... make and model number? Thanks.

Shure makes the industry standard, but Audio Technica has some new products which are at least as good quality wise. Either way, you are going to want to go with a UHF Diversity system. And if it seems too cheap to be good, it probably sucks.

I've been a Nady user for over 20 years, don't really have any opinions about other brands. I've always had good luck with the Nady systems, I have a rack system at present. I mostly use mine for sound checks, as I like the sound of my guitar with a good cable, seems something (tone) gets lost in the transmission of a wireless system. jmho If you go wireless be sure your channel is a different freqeuncy than any other band members. Check out the Samson's for a bang for your buck system. Have fun! Ralph

I use "Monster Bass, Performer 500 instrument cable" and I don't want any transmission lost, so money is not an issue when buying my wireless unit.... thank you both for your replies.

If $$$ is not an issue, look at the higher end Telex wireless systems (UHF of course) none of the other ones come close as far a signal loss...

The big problem you will have is that there is a feedback (not the squeling kind) back throught the cable which will not be there with a wireless unit. A wireless will never sound as good as a cable.

Have to agree with Light. I have a Nady and have used Shure but nothing beats cable.

Used a few during the years...Gotta agree cable is the only way for me..I do like the safety of wireless though

I'm not sure I understand this "feedback" through the cable stuff... can you explain it more to me? Thank you very much.

Well, it is really an issue of loading the amp properly, and impedance. This is also why passive pickups are more responsive than passive. The impedance on a passive pickup is more responsive. At least, this is the way I understand it. I have not spent a lot of time studying this. I am sure there is an electronics guy on the board who could explain it far better than I.

Oh ok... years ago I had a Nady wireless unit and I tried a few others also... but, I wasn't happy with the wireless units I tried so I went back to a cable. I was just hoping after all this time someone had prefected a good wireless bass unit... oh well. Thanks for the help Light.
