Wireless for bass??

I need advice on a wireless system for a bass. I now have a Samson Stage 55 wireless unit, but it's not doing what I want. Problem is, I play a six string bass and the wireless doesn't seem to work on the lower frequencies...in other words, the low B string is constantly cutting out. Seems to work OK with the rest of the instrument though.

Now, the catch is, I don't want to spend a lot on this. I play in a cover band and the wireless is strictly for convenience (i.e., not a necessity). I know some companies make wireless strictly for bass, but I can't seem to find one (most are guitar/bass).

Should I get rid of the one I have or is this something that is tweak-able internally? (doesn't have much controllability on the unit)

This is probably lame because I won't be able to find what I need without spending big bucks, but any help would be appreciated.

Nobody plays wireless?? Bummer. Maybe nobody has had the same problem. Oh well.

In looking up your wireless it looks like it's a VHF system. I'd reccomend going to UHF diversity; something in the $250 range from AKG, Sennheiser or Shure will do nicely.
