Looking for a product suggestion with a specific need. What I want is a small wireless condensor mic that will be used to mic impromptu percussion. Imagine a hollow wooden box. I want to mic the inside of that box without wires so that when I beat on it, I hear the noise on my amp/PA. Ideas?

A/T and shure both make lavalier condenser mics. Those are the little clip-ons people use on TV, etc. They come pretty small. Experiment with placement to get the best sound. And make sure to leave a way to get in the box to change the batteries!

I guess you could get a wireless lavalier setup and stick the whole thing in there, but you'd have to figure out a way to keep all the parts from moving around.

Why's it have to be a consenser and why does it need to be wireless? It would probably be a whole lot easier and cheaper to get a piezo soundboard transducer for an acoustic guitar and just slap it in there.

I'm pretty sure I've seen Mummenschantz and Cirque de Soleil do this kind of stuff, as well as The Blue Men. Performance art type stuff.
