A few years back my wife had a brother who died in a car accident. She wrote this poem to remember him by. I liked it so much that I put it to music. I had to tweek the words a bit to make it flow with the music. I think it's a great song for anybody who has lost someone. Please offer feed back.

This distance between us causes me tears,
I wander through the days wich turn into years.
I hold your picture it echoes the past,
I can see you smile I can hear you laugh.

(chorus)
[You've flown far away from home
I'll see you again when I have wings of my own.
Sweet angel watch over my heart,
help me to mend the pain while were apart.]

Time has stolen these moments I long for your embrace,
But your memory lives with me that time can not erase.
Memories rush through my mind quick as the wind,
I remember your life from begining to the end.

(chorus)
Ive a new perspective as I look on at life,
I no longer get bothred by the trivial strife.
I keep loved ones close and now I take the time,
to saver each moment and each blessing I find.

A part of my life is gone that time could never mend,
but I know it's not goodbye I know its not the end.
You have a different journey now you've gone to a better place,
and I know we'll be together again and share a new embrace.

(chorus)

I am not a believer in the great beyond but they make very good lyrics. They get to the essence of the loss and the good that can come from it.
